A beautiful villa with huge French windows and a 45’long and 15’ front space for a garden had to be designed. Considering the narrowness of the area, we decided to use only a 3’ wide planting bed along the boundary wall. We also wanted to control the foliage of plants & bushes to make this garden look more prominent; hence we planned to build a French style garden for the villa. French Gardens have a central axis of symmetry along which trimmed hedges are planned . These gardens give a formal look which was appropriate as the front garden of the villa. As shown in pictures, the garden had four semi-circular hedges planned for corners. We placed four classic pedestal marble planters inside and filled beige gravel. We also created a focal point using a trellis in the middle, a long centre line drawn from the villa. We placed a beautiful marble sculpture inside to finish the look. The garden looked beautiful from the living room and the floor above.
