Courtyards Projects

Civil Lines

This courtyard project was an unusual one due to its very long shape. It was situated in the middle of an old bungalow at Civil Lines Delhi; seen from all the main bedrooms and dining room, its location was significant. The courtyard had a lawn and one overgrown bamboo plant. We suggested to the clients a Balinese courtyard garden for this area.
Balinese courtyard gardens are miniature jungles in a controlled form. The highlight of the Balinese-style garden is huge earthen pots and stone statues along with bamboo, palms and monsteras planted randomly. The nature brought inside the courtyard added life to the entire house. We used one-third of the whole space to make a gazebo, a water body in a white earthen pot surrounded by pebbles and a white Buddha sculpture as seen in the picture. We also gave a walkway joining one part of the house to another one the remaining area; we also designed planting beds and lawns, which gave our clients sufficient space to relax and entertain their guests outdoors.
