Delhi Cantt

The Delhi cantt project was a small backyard garden, which required a makeover. The owner was passionate about  plants and had a green finger. As a result, over the years, the entire garden got covered with the vigorous growth of plants. It filled their small backyard with some dominating species of tropical plants, which wiped out the beautiful & delicate plants and took over the entire garden space. It created a monopoly of a sort.

The clients were clueless and disheartened on losing their beautiful garden space, where they had hosted many parties in the past. They were unhappy about the disappearance of expensive, soft-textured plants. The small garden space appeared even smaller with only a few overpowering species. Domination of more robust species over weaker ones is a prevalent problem not in our world but also in gardens, where we fail to consider the future growth of a plant. We often forget that plants are living beings, and shall grow  from their tiny size to large bushes & trees ,which  may damage their boundary walls or buildings later. Some trees create dense shade under which ,nothing grows. We gave them a wooden Deck at the end of the garden to sit and relax. Previously It was being used as utility area . We gave the utility space behind a wooden screen .Our design was aimed to give the garden ,an appearance which looked much bigger than its actual size .We relocated a beautiful sculpture piece Buddha Head, which was earlier hiding in a corner. As seen in the pictures, the sculpture on the Deck became a focal point as one enters the garden.
