A Moroccan courtyard Garden
This was a long, narrow courtyard running along the entire house from one corner to another. The problem was its disproportionate shape, where the width was only 10’, but the length was 45”. This courtyard was visible from the lounge, formal living room and dining room. All these rooms opened in this courtyard, and hence this area was a focal point from the entire house on the ground. There was a large balcony on the first floor, which also overlooked the courtyard.
We proposed a Moorish-style courtyard with vibrant colours. Because of its strategic position, we created three focal points from the centre of all three rooms on the ground. The plantation was according to Moroccan style; the tiles were all colourful with shades of blue, purple and turquoise. The seating was planned under the balcony roof with classic Moroccan black & white tiles. The feel of the garden was very relaxing & inviting; the courtyard was a turnaround from what it was earlier.
